Oswego Players present: The Escape of Brother Harmonious
Sunday, August 02, 2015, 01:00pm - 04:00pm

Rick Sivers will again appear on the stage of the Frances Marion Brown Theater in the Arts Center as Brother Harmonious. After a successful appearance last year, and with numerous requests to reprise his role as the irreverent, drunken monk, a single performance has been set for Sunday, August 2 at 2 pm.

Sivers originated the character of Brother Harmonious about fifteen years ago and has been bringing the him to life in a variety of venues around New York State. Last year was the first year of a full staged performance given to celebrate his 50th anniversary as a member of the Oswego Players. He will be joined again on stage by fellow Players member Paul McKinney as the silent, but persuasive nun, Sister Melody.

Brother Harmonious, a member of the Order of Serenity, last year was thrown into the dungeon on a variety of charges. Since then he escaped and has to make the decision whether to make a new life for himself outside the monastery or to return to face the charges. As the good monk relives some of his finer moments, the audience will be drawn into the action and the hilarity. In the end, the audience will play a key role in the decision that Brother Harmonious makes.

Reservations for this one-time performance can be made by calling the Oswego Players’ box office at 343-5138. “The Escape of Brother Harmonious” is set for 2 pm on Sunday, August 2 in the Frances Marion Brown Theater of the Oswego Civic Arts Center at Fort Ontario Park.
