Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
The first Paint Nite of 2016, on January 11, will feature Cindy Schmidt’s Lone Pine in a Snowy Forest. Past Paint Nites have featured adaptations of well-known painting such as Monet’s Water Lilies and Van Gogh’s Starry, Starry Night, as well as original creations such as Michelle Southgate’s Oswego Lighthouse. Future Paint Nites are scheduled for February 8 and March 14, 2016. Paint Nites are held at 7 PM on Monday evenings in the Community Room at the Oswego Commons.
At the gatherings, Lakeside Artisans members conduct classes in which each participant creates an original masterpiece. Lakeside Artisans provides the participants with all the materials needed to create the painting, as well as detailed instructions on the steps and techniques involved. Participants are asked to provide their own inspirational spirits, which are believed to help the creative process considerably.
Lakeside Artisans is now offering gift certificates for its popular Paint Nites. Recipients of the gift certificates can use them to make reservations at any of the Paint Nites. Gifts certificates are $45, which covers the full cost of the registration fee. Gift Certificates can be purchased at the Lakeside Artisans shop in in Canal Commons, 191 West 1st Street in Oswego.
