Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi) will be hosting their 12th annual Regional Awareness Program (RAP) for Young Drivers on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m.
RAP is an initiative that occurs every year in Oswego County with the goal of educating young people on the dangers of driving under the influence. Free to the public, several local agencies attend and present displays and demonstrations. For example, the New York State Police Department brings their vehicle rollover simulator, which rotates a vehicle with dummy passengers to show the extent of injury with and without a seatbelt.
Other agencies in attendance this year will be: Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, Oswego City Police Department, Oswego County STOP DWI program and CiTi’s Driver Education Program.
RAP has attracted over 300 parents and students in past years, usually scheduled just before prom season. There is no charge to attend; the event will be held at CiTi’s Mexico Campus located at 179 County Route 64 Mexico, NY 13114. Attendees are encouraged to use the hashtags #teenlivesmatter and #CiTiRAP. More information can be found at www.CiTiboces.org or the CiTi Facebook page.
