Interested in learning more about growing malted barley for the craft beverage industry? Then join Cornell Cooperative Extension Oswego County tomorrow, March 31st, for a special round table meeting at the Oswego Federal Credit Union Community Room, 5828 Scenic Ave (Rt 3), Mexico, from 1-3pm. There have been many recent developments in the construction of a malting facility by the Sunoco Ethanol Plant in Fulton, NY. In light of these developments, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County’s Agriculture Program has decided to convene a special roundtable meeting with Cornell University Regional Field Crops Specialists and Representatives from Sunoco. This meeting is for anyone planning on or thinking about growing malting barley this coming growing season and a chance to meet with others who are considering this crop, as well as what Sunoco is looking for in contracting with farmers. There is no cost to attend. For more information or to register, please call 315-963-7286, or email [email protected] by 10am on March 31st.
