Tuesday, June 07, 2016, 03:30pm - 05:30pm

Guest Chef Dinner

Jimmie James BBQ will be providing the next Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner on Tuesday, June 7, 4:30 to 6:30. They will be serving barbequed pulled pork, coleslaw, salt potatoes, and corn bread. Members of the Advisory Board will provide desserts and beverages. The dinner will be at the Salvation Army Worship and Service Center, 73 West Second Street, in Oswego.

The Guest Chef dinners are organized by the Advisory Board and offered to the community to raise funds for support of the services of the Army throughout Oswego County. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible.

Jimmie James BBQ is owned and operated by Robin and Jim Guyle, assisted by their son, Jeremy, and their son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Alice. They specialize in barbequed chicken, baby back ribs, brisket, and pulled pork but also offer pizza, wings, and subs. They have been in business for nine years and have their restaurant at 5048 Route 104 in Scriba.

Future dinners this year will be provided by the Zonta Club of Oswego on September 13, Canale’s Restaurant on October 18, and La Parilla on November 8.

The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps provides fresh-cooked meals five days each week in both Fulton and Oswego, groceries from its food pantries, and many other services to individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County. It also handles monthly Food $en$e groceries from the Food Bank of Central New York for anyone wishing to reduce their food costs.

The Corps is presently inviting donations of money to enable 22 Oswego County children to spend a week at summer camp. There will be a chicken BBQ on Saturday, June 18, from 11:00 A.M. Tickets are available at the office or from any Advisory Board member.

Anyone wanting more information or to offer service as a volunteer may call 343-6491 or stop at the office at 73 West Second Street, Oswego.
