Annual tradition has special meaning this year
Oswego, NY(July 12, 2016)- The annual Children’s Gala will be taking place on Tuesday, July 26th, at 6 PM in Breitbeck Park. The Gala this year has a special birthday theme celebrating Oswego County’s Bi-Centennial.
Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the Harborfest Volunteer Center at 41 Lake Street (Mon-Fri from 9 AM to 3 PM), Farmer’s Market (Thursdays from 4:30-8 PM), Oswego YMCA, and Mother Earth Baby. Only children need tickets.
With the purchase of a $5 ticket, children will get a sno-cone, popcorn, cake, and ice cream. There will also be an airhop, obstacle course, placemat decorating, and a selfie station with props. There will also be a t-shirt work shop taking place, where children can stamp t-shirts with paint and make a custom shirt, bring $5 or a plain tshirt!
AmeriCorps Member Kaylee Conner commented, “The Children’s Gala this year has a special meaning because it’s Oswego County’s Bicentennial. We want children and their families to have a great time while celebrating our community’s heritage in the days leading up to Harborfest.”
Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego, New York.
