2016 J/24 Oswego Pennant Series Regatta
August 13-14, 2016
- Host
The regatta will be hosted by Oswego Yacht Club. The home of Oswego Yacht Club is the blue roofed building near the drysail area adjacent to Wright’s Landing on Lake Street.
- Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the 20013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing
(RRS.)
- Entry
The regatta is open to all properly registered J/24 boats. Onsite registration and check in will be 11 A.M. to 10 P.M. on Friday and 7:30-8:30 A.M. Saturday. A scale for crew weigh in will be available. Registration form and payment may be mailed to:

- Insurance, Inspection and Measurement
Proof of insurance for property damage, and third party liability coverage is required for all participants. Participants are required to carry a current measurement certificate and current J/24 class membership card.
- Launching and Rafting
Launching and docking will be provided for all out-of-town boats adjacent to the Wrights Landing public marina on Lake Street. Competing boats will be launched by 9:00 a.m. August 13, and will remain in the water with rudders affixed for the duration of the regatta unless prior written approval to haul is obtained by regatta officials. J/24s are subject to inspection by regatta officials at any time during the regatta.
- Skippers Meeting
Skippers meeting will commence at 0830 August 13 at the OYC clubhouse deck, with racing on Lake Ontario’s open waters to begin as soon as practical thereafter.
- Sailing Instructions
Sailing instructions will be available at check-in and include course and mark descriptions.
- Scoring
The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the RRS will apply. Several races are scheduled. There will be a throw out when and if five races or more are completed. One completed race shall constitute a regatta.
