We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
The SUNY Oswego planetarium will present "A Trillion Planets" at 7 p.m. each Sunday during May.
Having already discovered over 3,000 exoplanets around other stars, astronomers now believe the stars of the Milky Way galaxy could have about a trillion planets, according to Dr. Scott Roby, director of the college's planetarium. In this program, Roby will explore other known planetary systems using new 3D models in the facility's updated software. "We are on the verge of finding twins of Earth for the first time," Roby noted.
Sunday shows will continue through June, with changing topics each month in the state-of-the-art facility on the second floor of the Richard S. Shineman Center for Science, Engineering and Innovation.
The planetarium has limited seating, so guests are encouraged to arrive a bit early. Shows are recommended for children ages 4 and older. Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No food or drink is permitted in the facility.
Parking is free in the commuter lot off Washington Boulevard and the employee lot off Centennial Boulevard across from the Shineman Center.
