“Stepping On” is an evidence-based program proven to reduce falls in older adults. Classes will cover simple and fun strength and balance exercises, the role vision plays in keeping balance, how medications can contribute to falls, and much more.
The workshop will be presented for two hours, once a week, for seven weeks. It is free of charge and registration is open to the public. Certified instructors from the Oswego County Health Department, Oswego Health Home Care and Bishop’s Commons will lead the workshop and be joined by expert guest speakers throughout the program.
Classes will be held weekly beginning Monday, April 24 through June 12. Classes run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Class will not be held on Memorial Day, May 29. Participants are expected to attend all sessions. Registration is required and space is limited. The Oswego County Falls Prevention Coalition will make this seven-session workshop and accompanying instructional material available free of charge to all class participants.
