We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
On Wednesday, May 31st members of local law enforcement will be carrying the "Flame of Hope" from Oswego Police Department to Fulton Police Department to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics New York athletes, and the 2017 Special Olympics New York Summer Games June 16-18.
Law Enforcement Torch Run® is a year-round, grassroots fundraising campaign by law enforcement agencies to benefit their local Special Olympics Program. Each year, officers carry the “Flame of Hope” through the streets of their hometowns and countries and deliver it to their local, state and national Special Olympics games. In 2015, the Law Enforcement Torch Run® programs raised nearly $1.8 million statewide. Within the LETR more than $51 million was raised globally.
Special Olympics is the largest amateur sports organization in the world. With over 68,547 athletes, Special Olympics New York is the largest chapter in North America and the 6th largest chapter in the world. Special Olympics New York athletes train and compete year-round in 22 sports, at no cost to the athlete, their families or their caregivers.
