We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
August 2017 Art Parties
Riverside Artisans Cooperative is offering four widely varied Art Parties in August. Each Art Party will be led by one of the Riverside Artisans accomplished members. Ranging from creating Mixed Media Collages to a special Children’s Paint Party, each participant will have the opportunity to create their own personal work of art.
August’s offering include:
Fun with Watercolor – Saturday, August 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Instructor Carol Burghart will lead participant through the basics of this amazingly beautiful medium.
Children’s Birdhouse Painting – Saturday, August 19, 1 to 3 p.m.
Bonnie Sommers will work with young people from 10 to 15 years to paint a birdhouse with unique and colorful decorations.
Paint Party – “For you, Mom” – Monday August 21, 7 to 9 p.m.
Bonnie Sommers will show participants how to create their own versions of her whimsical and sentimental masterpiece.
Mixed Media Collage – Saturday August 26 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Sandy Clift will demonstrate how to create a layered artwork with tissue paper and glued accents.
The parties will take place in the Canal Commons Community Room at 191 w.1st Street, Oswego. The cost of the each party is $35 and includes all materials. Brushes, paints, papers, birdhouses, canvases, aprons and easels will be provided. Participants need only to bring their own refreshments. There is a $10 registration fee, with the balance of $25 due at the time of the class.
Gift certificates for Art Parties are now available at the Riverside Artisans. Give a certificate and the recipient can register for any of our upcoming Art Parties! You can also book private parties for friends and family, or fundraisers for your organization.
