Peter B. Jones (Beaver Clan) is a renowned ceramic artist of the Onondaga Nation of New York. Jones’ distinctive style is derived from his study and revival of the traditional Haudenosaunee pottery techniques of hand-constructed coiling, slab assembly and pit firing with wood. Throughout his career Jones’ philosophy has remained constant -- “to make art based on my Native culture” and to “create a visual history in clay of the life and events of Native people in the contemporary world.”
