Artist Luanne Redeye grew up on the Allegany Indian Reservation in Western New York and is an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and Hawk Clan. She received her BFA from SUNY Oswego in 2008 and her MFA from the University of New Mexico in 2011. She currently teaches at Binghamton University. As a figurative artist her work is an intersection of autobiography, community, and family members, which gives her work a strong personal and emotional component. She depicts her culture and the relationship between perception and experience through genre scenes and portraiture.
