We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Once again this year's "Christmas in Palermo" will feature a Drive-Thru experience starting at 5:00 pm December 5th. The annual church community tree lighting will kick off this event with a blessing from our Pastor Tammie Chawgo/Nipper before the first car starts through. The "Grinch" will be the first to welcome you. He will have a collection box if you would like to donate canned goods for our Christmas boxes and/or a gift for a child to support our Angel Tree Mission. Items specifically needed will be posted on our facebook page, but all items are welcomed. You will encounter many stations among many light displays on your way through where the children will find Santa waving to them and Santa's elves will pass out a gift to all the children. A postal box will be located near Santa to mail your Santa letters. A Santa letter will be included in our school flyers that will be going home, you can also bring your own. Once again we'll be offering our homemade Christmas cookies and candy made on location for a donation of $8.00 a dozen. These were a big hit last year. At this station you will meet the Cookie Monster and also Mrs. Santa. Trail Life USA Trailmen will be offering pre-packaged smores, and American Heritage Girls will offer hot cocoa kits called "Snowman Soup." Look closely for Frosty the Snowman by the bonfire. Don't miss our station offering a "craft kit in a bag." This was always a fun time in person, but you will get a bag with all the parts and pieces to assemble a nice craft at home for yourself or as a gift for someone. One popular basket drawing can be viewed through the drive-thru/ It will offer two "huge" baskets, one for just kids and one for the family. The winners will be announced on Facebook at 7:00 PM. What Christmas event would be complete without a "Live Nativity" which will be the last thing you'll see on your way out depicting the real meaning of Christmas. We hope you can join us. All Covid 19 requirements will be met. Remember to look for Grover, Oscar and Rudolph on your way through. So treat yourself to our Christmas in Palermo special production. Covid 19 can't stop Christmas here in Palermo at our hometown Palermo United Methodist Church. NEW THIS YEAR. We are inviting families, organizations and businesses to host a "Trunk Lighting Display." This would be a great opportunity to promote your business or get extra use of your décor. Help us decorate the path with your creativity. Contact us on Facebook or leave a message at 315-598-4888 if you'd like to join the fun on a whole new level! Services are held 10:30 AM and Sunday School at 11:15 AM on Sundays. As an added event our "Kid's Christmas Tree Shop" will be open every Saturday from 10:00AM-2:00PM during December. Here the kids can shop for presents for their families. Most items are 25 cents unless marked otherwise. This was always a hit for the kids, during our in house event. Merry Christmas to everyone.
