- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.

Join us for an introductory African dance and small Doundouns drum workshop! Participants will learn the basics of African dance and drumming. Led by Yamoussa Bangoura, creator of Kalabante productions and special guests from the company. Free and open to all. About Kalabanté Kalabanté Productions was created in 2007 by Yamoussa Bangoura, a multidisciplinary artist of Guinean origin who has always dreamed of founding a circus school and having his own multidisciplinary company in African arts. Established in Montreal, Yamoussa Bangoura, artistic director of the company, transmits and shares his values and his passion thanks to the teaching of the various artistic disciplines which he masters in circus arts, African dance and traditional music of West Africa. Bangoura stages his own shows whose signature stands out from the Montreal cultural landscape. Since the company's first production, Kô Ryass, several shows have followed such as Kumbaya, Uno, Kira Néné and Afrique en Cirque. Several projects are underway for the years to come, in order to continue the dissemination and promotion of the company he holds dear. Kalabanté Productions are proud to share their achievements, imbued with Western arts in Canada and around the world, with the aim of providing humanitarian aid to Yamoussa's community in Guinea.
