Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Lake Ontario's Marine Sanctuary
The Lake Ontario region of Central New York is rich in history and ecosystem diversity. Through the work of four counties, this unique environment was recently designated a National Marine Sanctuary. This designation recognizes the historical significance of wrecks and seeks to protect many of the dive resources in the sanctuary. Professor Humphrey, a Cayuga Community College science faculty member and Lake Ontario Marine Sanctuary advisory board member, will discuss the designation process and the importance of this sanctuary to the region's natural resources.
