Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Community members are invited to attend a series of guided hikes to learn how to survey hemlock trees for the presence of an invasive insect called Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA).
The purpose of the hike is to recruit and train volunteers to keep an eye out for HWA while they are spending time outdoors this fall and winter and to report observations using a free mobile app called iMapInvasives—a community science tool. These efforts help to detect HWA populations early before their populations grow too large to manage and contain.
No experience is needed; training will be provided.
Hikes are free and open to the public.
Register online at sleloinvasives.org/events. Registration is required as important information pertaining to the hikes as well as simple instructions to set up iMapinvasives will be emailed.
