This event features a screening of "Habanastation" (2011), a critically acclaimed Cuban film that explores class disparities through the friendship of two children from vastly different backgrounds. Directed by Ian Padrón, the film provides a compelling look at social inequalities in contemporary Cuba, highlighting themes of privilege, resilience and community. Following the screening will be a Q&A session with the director where students can engage in a discussion about the film’s portrayal of Cuban society, its relevance to global issues of economic disparity and the role of cinema in shaping cultural narratives.
The screening will take place in Room 315.
English interpretation will be handled by student David Padrón.
