Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
This event brings together local ceramic artists for an afternoon of creativity, friendly competition, and community fun. Prizes will be awarded.
Inspired by the popular pottery competition shows, the Pottery Throwdown features a series of timed clay challenges that test both technical skill and creativity. Competitors with wheel-throwing experience will put their abilities to the test before a live audience, making for an entertaining event for pottery enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
The Throwdown serves as a fundraiser for the Art Association of Oswego’s Pottery Studio. Building on the success of last year's event, organizers hope to make the Pottery Throwdown an annual tradition that celebrates the region's vibrant clay community.
Competitor registration is now open. Participants should have prior wheel-throwing experience, as the challenges are designed for those with basic pottery skills, including hand-building.
