Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Plans are underway for a night of fun and laughter at the Mardi Gras on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Minetto United Methodist Church. The church returns to offering this winter escape with all the hilarity that has been part of Mardi Gras for years.
Rick Sivers returns as master of ceremonies and bring his blend of stories and character portrayals to entertain everyone. The Sounds of Brass, who first performed for a Mardi Gras over ten years ago will return with some snappy numbers for the dinner guests.
This year the Mardi Gras has been combined with the church's Valentine's Spaghetti supper, so it will be dinner theater with a combination of food, jokes and music for everyone to enjoy.
Immediately following dinner will be the crowning of the Bishop of Fools, the Lord of Misrule and the Abbot of Unreason from the dinner guests and then will come the show and lots of laughs.
Reservations for the Mardi Gras should be made by contacting the church office at 343-3465. Seating is limited so make your reservations early. Cost for dinner and the show is $15 per person. Proceeds will benefit the work of the church.
The Minetto United Methodist Church is located at the intersection of State Route 48 and County Route 8 in Minetto and is fully handicap accessible.
