Write a commentAwards from the Art Association of Oswego 2013 Members' Exhibition based on popular vote were given to:
• First place was awarded to Bonnie Bergan for her watercolor, Summer Day.
• Second place was awarded to Robert Jones for his watercolor, Aurora's Big Dance.
• Third place was awarded to Sandra Dowie for her oil painting on wood panel, Sailing.
Honorable Mentions were given to Laurie Kester for her wood and glass assemblage Wind Charmer and to Terry Carbone for her oil painting Misty Cove.
A special recognition for use of color and a portable easel were awarded to Ron Throop for his acrylic on hardboard painting The Land Developer Improves Land Like Beelzebub Nurtures Puppies. The easel was donated by AAO member Charlene Davis.
A Solo Show award was given to Robert Jones, who will have the opportunity to mount a one-man exhibition of work in the Jo Hyse (first floor) Gallery during the 2014 Exhibition Season.
As always, exhibits are free and open to the public.
The Arts Center is located at the northernmost end of East Fourth Street, in Oswego, across from Fort Ontario. Regular gallery hours are from 2-5 pm on weekends, or by appointment.
