Agnes M. Bristol, 96, a resident of East 10th Street in Oswego, passed away Saturday, at the Oswego Hospital.
Mrs. Bristol was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Wallace and Doris (Syrell) Kelley. She was a life resident, and a graduate of Oswego High School.
She was a very active foster mother. Over 20 years, she welcomed 368 foster children into her home, and helped to raise them.
Mrs. Bristol was formerly a librarian at the Oswego City Library, and was an avid bingo player.
She was the wife of the late Clare A. Bristol, who died in 1993.
She is survived by five daughters, Donna (Edward) Clifford of Oswego, Claire Ann (Richard) Hillman of Hannibal, Pamela Avery of Oswego, Candy (Jesse) Hill of Oswego, and Frances Bristol of Hannibal; two sons, John (Bobbie Jo) Bristol of Fulton, and Steven Bristol of Pulaski; a sister, Margaret Farley of Oswego; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by several siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Thursday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 Wednesday, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street.
