The American Foundry will be providing the next Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner on Tuesday, April 7, 4:30 to 6:30. They will be serving chicken and biscuits, tossed salad, and bread. Members of the Advisory Board will provide desserts and beverages. The dinner will be at the Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service, 73 West Second Street, in Oswego.

The Guest Chef dinners are organized by the Advisory Board and offered to the community to raise funds to support the services of the Army throughout Oswego County. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible. Dinners may be enjoyed in our dining room or carried out.

The Foundry, as it's known locally, is owned and operated by the Ciappa family, lifelong Oswego residents who have generations of experience in the food and special events business. They and their staff are known for critically acclaimed food and for handling each event with professionalism, care, and neighborly warmth that is a trademark of this close-knit family. They specialize in public and private gatherings including weddings, receptions, fundraisers, public concerts, and other special events.

Future Guest Chef Dinners this year will be provided through the generosity of the following: Vona's Restaurant, June 2; Zonta Club of Oswego (roast beef), September 15; Canale's Restaurant, October 6; and Jimmie James BBQ (chicken barbecue), November 3.

Major James Purvis recently noted, "The income from our dinners is a very significant part of the support of the services the Army provides to people in need throughout our County. We thank the people, businesses, and organizations of Oswego County for their support of The Salvation Army."

The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps provides fresh-cooked meals and food pantries in both Fulton and Oswego and many other services to individuals of all ages and families in need throughout Oswego County. Worship services are held at the Oswego location. The Corps is under the leadership of Majors James and Kathryn Purvis.

Information about The Salvation Army or about serving as a volunteer is available at 343-6491, between 1:00 and 4:00 P.M., or at the office at 73 West Second Street, Oswego.
