Bishop's Commons welcomes Alzheimer's Association Community Educator Sandy Jurkiewicz to the Lunch & Learn program on Thursday, April 17th to share ways to reduce your risk of cognitive decline.
"We are excited to hear Sandy share the key lifestyle changes that we all can make to help us live healthier in brain and body," noted Julie Chetney, Bishop's Commons Director of Senior Services.
Sandy Jurkiewicz's career was in advertising and marketing. She retired from CenterState CEO in 2019 after 12-plus years working with the Central New York business community as a membership manager. She became involved with the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York chapter when her dad was diagnosed with the disease in 2011 and has served in many capacities – as an Advisory Board Chair/Member, on both Walk to End Alzheimer's and Longest Day committees as well as fundraising for both events. She became a Volunteer Community Educator in 2019.
Lunch and Learn begins at noon and is a community event held monthly featuring a 30-minute informational program followed by a free lunch that includes soup, salad and dessert.
