Dozens of scholar-athletes were honored and celebrated during Monday’s APW Rebels Varsity Athletic Banquet.

In addition to the major awards given out, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District also honored those who excelled in the classroom, earning scholar-athlete status. A player or coach from each team also spoke about their seasons, highlighting the triumphs and special honors received.

APW Director of Health, PE and Athletics George Emrich kicked off the banquet, thanking the athletes for all they’ve given on the field and their years of dedication to Rebel athletics. The ceremony was held Monday, June 12 in front of family, friends and supporters in the APW Junior-Senior High School gym.

There were several school records set in track and field that were celebrated, and APW honored 16 Rebel student-athletes who were three-sport athletes this school year.

Six varsity teams earned NYSPHSAA scholar-athlete team recognition: soccer, volleyball, bowling, golf and boys and girls track and field.

The Outstanding Athletes of the Year awards, given to one male and female for their on-field prowess, were presented to Isabella Scott and Skyler Solinsky.
