Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski) will team up with United Way of Greater Oswego County, the Village of Pulaski and local restaurants and businesses to host their annual "Stone Soup Pulaski Luncheon" to provide local families and children with reliable access to nutritious meals. The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ringgold Fire Department.
The 2026 Stone Soup Pulaski Luncheon is sponsored by the Richard S. Shineman Foundation and Dot Foods. Soups will be donated by Artie's Hometown Diner, Mill House, Make Sense Shop, Pond Pit BBQ, Tailwater Lodge, Deja Brew and 11 North. In addition to soup, guests will enjoy salad, rolls and beverages, all generously provided by local businesses.
"What started as a grassroots effort to increase awareness about hunger in our communities has grown into an annual fundraiser and food drive helping local agencies provide for those in need," said Barclay. "I'm incredibly proud to work with our sponsors, local restaurants and volunteers once again and am grateful for their help in making this event possible. If you are able, I encourage you to contribute—whether big or small, it makes a difference to the families who need it in Oswego County."
"Stone Soup Pulaski brings out the best in our community," said Village Trustee Jan Tighe. "The many hands involved, especially the partners who work quietly behind the scenes, are what make this possible. Their support and the donations we receive go directly toward helping our neighbors facing food insecurity."
"This annual event really does show how our community shows up for one another," said United Way Executive Director Patrick Dewine. "Food insecurity is a real issue in our county, affecting families right here, and the support we receive from local businesses and organizations helps us back the agencies doing the day‑to‑day work of feeding our community."
Every dollar raised and every nonperishable item donated will be divided among local food‑relief programs that provide healthy, nutritious food to hundreds of individuals.
Guests attending the luncheon are asked to contribute a $5 admission fee and bring a nonperishable food item to donate. Volunteers from National Grid and ConnextCare will assist in serving the meal. All proceeds and food donations will directly support local food pantries and school backpack programs, which ensure children and families have access to healthy meals beyond the classroom.
