Fultz Barbara A. "Bobbie" Fultz, 79, a resident of State route 104, Oswego, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at St. Luke Health Services, after a period of declining health and illness.      Bobbie was born on March 26, 1933, in Manhattan, an only daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Hracho) Szabo.
She graduated from high school and worked for a number of years as a secretary for a variety of employers in Manhattan and the Rockefeller Center area.
She met her husband, Jack, one New Year's Eve and a little more than a year later they were married, eventually moving to Oswego and raising their family. Bobbie left city life and embraced many new interests including gardening and songbirds, sewing, and baking, filling her family home over the years with flowers, hand-made gifts and delicious treats. Bobbie will always be remembered for her sense of humor and fun in family life, including many good laughs with her grandchildren while playing card and board games.
Bobbie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of nearly 50 years, John R. "Jack" Fultz; her daughter, Karen (Gene) Schulze of Apex, N.C.; her beloved granddaughters, Christine, a college student in Wilmington, NC, and Stephanie and Angela, of Apex; her sister-in-laws, Linda Szabo, Theresa Fultz and Olive Fultz; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was predeceased by her brother, Stephen; and her youngest daughter, Lisa, who tragically died in a car accident in 1984 at the age of 18.
While Bobbie's family grieves their loss, they draw comfort in the thought of Bobbie reuniting with Lisa in God's presence.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks and appreciation to St. Luke's staff for their compassionate care of Bobbie these last months.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, from St. Mary's Church, in Oswego. Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
Flowers are appreciated or a donation may be made to St. Luke Health Services, 299 E. River Road, or St. Mary's Church, 103 W. Seventh St. Oswego, NY 13126.
