Barbara J. Ahart, 79, a resident of Oswego passed away on November 4 at Seneca Hill Manor.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Ruth (Fenske) Wart and was a graduate of the Oswego High School. She was a secretary for many years who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to watch the WNBA and Women's college basketball. Barbara loved to travel around the country in her motor home.
Surviving are her two sons, Ronald (Debbie) Ahart Jr. of Oswego, Dennis (Sarah Shannon) Ahart of Oswego, a daughter, Wendy (Don) Canfield of Carthage, two sisters, Beatrice Phillips of Kingston N.Y., Esther (Chip) Alexander of Connecticut, a brother, Richard (Kristine) Wart of Oswego, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Captain Ronald Ahart Sr. in 1972, two sisters, her twin Beverly Palmitesso and Patricia Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00-10:45 prior to the service.
