Bonnie Sapka Amedio, 67, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Oswego Hospital.
Bonnie was born in Syracuse, and grew up in Lakeland. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Kaye (Todd) Sapka.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the activities departments for Peregrine Senior Living Center in Syracuse, and at Bishop’s Commons in Oswego. She had also worked for St. Luke Nursing Home in Oswego. Bonnie enjoyed working with the elderly, and had a great gift for making them feel comfortable and happy.
Bonnie loved gardening and flowers. She had formerly worked as a designer in the floral department at Price Chopper in Oswego.
She is survived by her husband, John Amedio of Oswego; a son, Sam Sapka, a sister, Betsy Sams; and a grandson, Avigdor Sapka.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24th, at 6:00 at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held from 5:00-6:00pm Wednesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
