Syracuse director/choreographer Stephfond Brunson seems to have his hands (and feet) in everything these days! This past weekend, he took 3rd place with his partner Jacqueline Keuchler-Calveric in the "Dancing with Our Stars" program (pairing community leaders with dance experts to raise money for the George & Rebecca Barnes Foundation) at The Oncenter's Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center. The annual event raises funds to save the historic landmark mansion at 930 James St. "Dancing with Our Stars" began in 2008, drawing 300-350 people each year. Since then, the event has raised more than $120,000 for the foundation.

Brunson, who most recently choreographed the Baldwinsville Theatre Guild's sold-out production of "Jekyll and Hyde - The Musical" and directed Paula Vogel's "How I Learned to Drive" for RedHouse Arts Center will lead a local cast of seven on an exclusive restaurant tour featuring "Murder at Cafe Noir" by David Landau this May for CNY's up and coming dinner theatre company - Theatre Du Jour - A Dinner Theatre Experience!

Having worked with most theater companies in Central New York, Brunson has enjoyed a well-rounded working experience with all levels of actor, director and dance student. A few highlights are his 2014 Salt Award win for Choreographer of the year along side Anthony Wright for Spamalot at The Central New York Playhouse as well as a 2 year stint playing "Trevor" in an on-going tour with the peaceful schools "Have you filled a bucket today" play (a theatrical adaptation based on the concepts of Carol McCloud's award-winning books "Have you filled a bucket today" and "Growing up with a bucket full of happiness").

The "Murder at Cafe Noir" restaurant tour will hit Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center and the Oswego Tea Company in Oswego, Kristen's at Battle Island in Fulton and Mohegan Manor in Baldwinsville. "We are thrilled to bring a director of this caliber to Oswego to work with our cast and crew; helping them hone their skills and achieve our goal to deliver the highest quality interactive productions" said Tammy Wilkinson, artistic director for TDJ.
