Folk singer and songwriter Kevin McKrell and his band will be back from The Savannah Irish Festival in time to liven The Oswego Music Hall's stage Sat. March 7th at 7:30 p.m. Helping him set tight smooth harmonies, stirring songs, and infectious rhythms will be percussionist Brian Melick; his daughter Kate McKrell (guitar, bodhran, vocals); Seth Warden (guitar & vocals), and Doug Moody (fiddle, vocals).

Kevin's Celtic bluegrass songs have been recorded and/or performed by artists from around the world including The Kingston Trio, The Furey Brothers and Davy Arthur, Seamus Kennedy, North Sea Gas, Hair of the Dog, The Dublin City Ramblers and many more.

Kevin has been a founding member of several bands, including the Celtic folk band Donnybrook Fair, an internationally recognized Irish folk group that for a while played under the name Hard Times in the early 1990s. That band's sound was unique at the time: "a hard-driving fusion of Celtic roots, blazing bluegrass licks and rock-solid folk-influenced songwriting." Kevin is also an award winning portrait artist, his artwork can be seen at www.kmckrell.com

Kevin's current bluegrass band, The McKrells, evolved after Hard Times broke up. Kevin has performed in theaters, clubs and on festival stages across the United States, Canada, Ireland and the U.K. Kevin, and his bands have performed for audiences at the top Celtic, Folk and Bluegrass festivals as well as at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Venues for The McKrells include Troy Music Hall, Café Lena, Berklee Performance Hall, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Midleton Folk Club Midleton County Cork, The Hootenanny Inverness Scotland, The Egg, North Texas Irish Festival, The Landmark Theater Syracuse, Milwaukee Irish Festival, Celtic Classic, The Great American Irish Festival, and Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.
