Write a commentThe Oswego Children`s Theater is looking for many more than a few good actors to participate in their upcoming production of `Shrek the Musical`, with auditions scheduled on Tuesday May 13th from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. and Friday May 16th 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the New Haven Congregational Church, on Route 104 east between Oswego and Mexico.
The production will then get off to a quick start with the first rehearsal scheduled for May 17th from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. also at the church.
"Shrek" is a musical comedy based on the Oscar winning animated film of the same name. The play was written by David Lindsay-Abaire, with music by Jeanine Tesori.
Participation in this production is open to all area children and youth. Those auditioning should be prepared to recite a short monologue, such as a nursery Rhyme, and sing a song. Cast member may also be asked to read from the script. The play requires a very large cast with many individual roles available. There are almost fifty named parts in the show.
Lyndsie Lee Jones will direct this production which is slated to be performed on July 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 and 20 at the church.
