The opening reception for the artists in instructor Billie Jo Peterson's printmaking class will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the branch of Tyler Art Gallery and the College Store, at the corner of West First and Bridge streets in Oswego. The exhibition runs through June 27.
The high school had not offered printmaking for at least 15 years until the following student artists enrolled in Peterson's class starting last fall: Tiffany Billington, Liz Bonner, Danneleze Buske, Francis Dahar, Jack Knutson, Drew Ormsby, Kylie Pelkey, Cassidy Quonce, Matthew Samson, Diane Schroeder, Morgan Susino-Beshures and Cortni Walden.
"The students have spent the last 35 weeks solving visual problems while learning about and experimenting with several printmaking techniques," according to the exhibition listing. "Contact prints, monotype, wood and linoleum cut, collagraph and screen prints are just a few of the techniques used."
Oswego State Downtown's branch of Tyler Art Gallery is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. For more information, visit oswego.edu/tylerartgallery. College Store information is available at oswego.edu/store.
