     Commodore Isaac Chauncey's success commanding the U.S. naval forces on the Great Lakes and several accounts of espionage during the War of 1812 are among the topics to be presented at the third annual Oswego War of 1812 Symposium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 5, 6 and 7, at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. First St., Oswego.

     SUNY Oswego will follow up earlier exhibitions of schoolchildren's artwork with a show at Oswego State Downtown for two youngsters who have been constantly immersed in art as daughters of two art department employees.

     In an effort to help empower consumers reach their personal goals of living healthier lives, ARISE recently organized two eight-week classes on nutrition.

The team from St. Luke gave an overview of facilities and services, and shared an update on the soon-to-be-completed St. Francis Commons Assisted Living facility.

     The Oswego Music Hall is excited about bringing the edgy, genre-bending trio that's making waves – We're About 9 (WA9) – to its stage, 8 p.m., Saturday, March 15.

     The Great Strides Walk, for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is up and on its way to the big day on May 18, 2013. Oswego is in the process of forming more teams and fundraising up until the day of the walk.

Each year more than 30,000 people die by suicide in the U.S. and over 750,000 people make an attempt. These statistics are horrifying! Regardless of race, sex, age, where you live, suicide has no boundary and impacts every community across the country.
