Employees at Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station led efforts to build habitats for blue birds, bats, pollinators and wood ducks over a period of several years, ultimately resulting in Gold Level Certification from the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) for the station.

SUNY Oswego students and faculty will offer small prints of original artwork for sale as a Hurricane Sandy relief fundraiser starting Dec. 7 at Oswego State Downtown.
Professional auctioneer, Col. Corrina McEwen Pauldine recently opened McEwen Auction Company, 32 Erie St., in the former St. John's Church, in Oswego. Along with specialty auctions, Pauldine hosts weekly auctions every Monday at 6 p.m., with a preview from 5-6 p.m.

It's official. The largest, heaviest squash in New York, the U.S. and the world was weighed in at the 2012 CNY Great Pumpkin Festival, Sept. 29 and 30, said Beth Hilton, executive director, Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, who hosted the event.
The Oswego City School Board of Education committee and regular meetings will be held beginning at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the Education Center.
The Oswego County Legislature's Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee presented Michael Allen with a certificate of appreciation for his 30 years of service. Allen is the director of the Oswego County E-911 Program

Downtown Oswego will be treated to the sound of carolers as volunteers collect donations to assist the Oswego Salvation Army and Paws Across Oswego County in their work this Christmas season.
The Oswego Salvation Army made their monthly visit to residents at St. Luke Health Services, in Oswego, and made the holiday season special as they not only shared some holiday music, but also left residents with a Christmas gift – a cozy lap blanket to help stay warm during the winter season ahead.
