The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, in conjunction with the AARP Tax-Aide Program is pleased to offer free annual income tax preparation, e-filing and tax counseling services for the residents of Oswego County. There are no age or income restrictions; however, special attention will be given to those 50 and over.

Literacy Under the Lights brings Mexico football players and elementary students together
The first-ever “Literacy Under the Lights” event brought students, families, athletes and staff together Wednesday, Sept. 23, for an evening celebrating literacy, leadership and school spirit.

On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, members of Oswego County's Fire and Iron Station 1438 Motorcycle Club met at the New Haven Fire Department to present a check to Friends of Oswego County Hospice. Fire and Iron proudly presented a $500.00 donation to Debbie Bishop, Executive Director of Friends of Oswego County Hospice, in memory of the late Barbara S. Wilcox of New Haven.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will again this year host a Mardi Gras full of fun and merriment to mark the time before the start of Lent. The event will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the church on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 pm.
Scheduled for Friday, March 10 the CAC Wing Fest will be held at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, East First Street in Oswego 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. with wings being served from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Attitude adjustment hour begins at 5:00 p.m.

In recognition of Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Oswego County is collaborating with its community partners to help raise awareness of child abuse in Oswego County.
Physical and sexual child abuse is the most serious health problem that youth face. The statistics are startling. Nationally 1 in 10 children are sexually abused before their 18th birthday; youth represent 66% of all sexual offenses reported; and youth are 2.5 times more likely to be raped than adults.
