Rupert is set to succeed Thomas O’Toole, who has served as CEO/Manager of Compass since 1989. O’Toole will stay on as Associate CEO until his retirement on Thursday, April 30.

Through his 31 years at Compass, O’Toole oversaw the credit union’s growth from just one branch location, with three full-time employees, to seven locations with more than a dozen full-time employees. In that time, Compass was granted a Community Charter through the National Credit Union Administration, helping to ensure the success of the credit union for many years to come.

“Tom has helped grow Compass to where it is today and we are confident that Jennifer will continue to grow the credit union, while maintaining the core values we have had in place over the last 30 years,” said Compass Board of Directors President, Michael Pisa. “As a dedicated member of the Compass family for nearly 20 years, Jennifer’s experience and character will help guide our staff and membership into our next chapter.”

A 2007 graduate of SUNY Oswego, with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Rupert has been a member of the Compass staff since 2002. In her 17 years at Compass, Rupert has experience at every level of the credit union, starting as a Member Service Representative before becoming a Loan Officer in 2006 and most recently the credit union’s Senior Loan Officer in 2017.

“I am very excited to see what the future brings with the credit union,” said Rupert. “We have a lot of changes coming up, especially with the new Fulton office opening up this year. I have been invested in the credit union my whole career and look forward to continued success.”
