The Oswego Music Hall's stage will thrum, twang and soar when The Dady Brothers take its stage Saturday, Feb. 22 at 8:00 p.m. Considered Western New York's favorite troubadours, John and Joe Dady have been bringing their unique range and brand of Celtic and American root music to their performances for some 30 years.

With their command of an amazing array of instruments-- guitar, pennywhistle, fiddle, banjo, octave mandolin, harmonica, uilleann pipes, bodhran, and ukulele--they have entertained and delighted audiences in all sorts of venues throughout the U.S. and beyond.

The Dady Brothers' wide repertoire ranges from Irish folk ballads to original contemporary folk, bluegrass, and acoustic blues. They are wonderfully at ease with their audiences and have a gift for finding humor in the moment and sharing it spontaneously. The Dadys have received impressive reviews in many publications in America, Ireland and Canada, including: Freetime Magazine, the Irish Echo, Sing Out, Dirty Linen, American History Magazine, Pickin’, the Cork Examiner, and Bluegrass Unlimited. They have recorded 11 independently released CD’s in a recording studio they built themselves. The twelfth will be released this year.

Joe and John have also recorded numerous projects for other artists, including work on the 2013 Grammy nominee for spoken word: Pete Seeger: The Storm King. It's a beautiful collection of stories and poems spoken by Pete Seeger, set to multi-genre music from around the world. The Dady Brothers' contribution was Irish tunes and their tribute to Pete, "The Man With the Banjo." Since the world so recently lost what the Dadys call the "gold standard of protest singers," the duo will no doubt include some Pete Seeger music and stories in their Oswego performance.

Tommy Makem, the "Godfather of Irish music," had high praise for the Dady Brothers: they "have it all – taste, talent, and dedication. Taste to write and select good material; talent to perform that material excellently, to the delight of their audiences; and dedication to keep their material and performances to the highest standards.”
