Born in Oswego, She was the daughter of the late Leland and Helen Ruth Burdick Pelkey Engle and attended Oswego City Schools.
She retired from the Auxillary Services at SUNY Oswego.
Dora loved spending time with her family and traveling. Bingo and the Casino is where she liked to spend her rainy days.
Surviving are three sons, Robert F. (Marianne) Serow Jr. of Cicero., Christopher B. (Mary K. Arduini ) Serow of Granby, Steven J. Serow of Hannibal. two sisters, Alice (Sue) Allen of Fulton, and Ruth "Dolly" Serow of Oswego, four grandchildren, Ethan, Robert III, Andrew, and Crystal Serow, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Serow Sr., and two brothers, Leland and Leslie Pelkey.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday March 23 at 12:30 from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
