     The Oswego Public Library welcomes its newest member Dr. Joseph Sgarlata to its Board of Trustees.

     Dr. Sgarlata is a retired teacher with more than 32 years of experience at the Oswego High School.

     During his time there, he taught American History and Criminal Justice.
     At Cayuga Community College, Sgarlata taught history, government and constitutional law, was an adjunct instructor on public policy at Syracuse University and received a PhD from the Maxwell School, Syracuse University.
     Dr. Sgarlata and his wife of almost 50 years live in Oswego and have two sons, David, of Rochester, and Andrew, of Tennessee.
     He has authored two works, one on law and public policy and a second on local history regarding Scriba Patent.
