Edith Anna Greeney, 84 of Oswego passed away on Christmas in the Oswego Hospital.
She was born in Berlin, Germany and was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Gertrude Pawolek Filla.
She was the widow of Claude Lewis Greeney who died in 1986.
Mrs. Greeney had been employed for many years at both the Colonial House and Char-Pit restaurants in Oswego. She will be fondly remembered by her customers as the lovely lady with the German accent.
She is survived by one daughter Sylvia (Allen) Morris of Ham Lake, MN, one son Harrison (Mary) Greeney of Oswego, one sister Karin Slaughter of Hope Mills, NC, five grandchildren, Christopher Greeney, Benjamin Greeney, Joseph Brown, Angela Demling and Alexander Becker, four great grandchildren Aidan Greeney, Emma Greeney, Ava Greeney and Roman Dvorak, and several nieces and nephews including three, Yvonne Greeney, Monek Cullen and Dominick Cullen, who helped to care for her in her later years.
Funeral Services will be 9:30AM Monday from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10:00AM in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in Vermillion Cemetery.
