Born and raised in Oswego, Edward was the son of the late Harold J. and Grace M. (DiBellis) O’Neil.

Edward was a graduate of Oswego High School. He was a proud Veteran having served in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967. Edward worked at Alcan for many years.

Edward was a fixer. He loved to work on various projects around his house. Edward was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was a big Syracuse University Men’s Basketball fan.

Edward is survived by his son Ryan O’Neil, his brother Patrick (Cathie) O’Neil, his sister-in-law Valerie Murray O’Neil, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind his long-time companion Brenda Waugh, stepson Timothy Waugh and stepdaughter Shelly Stacy.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy and Bobby O’Neil.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 4-6 pm with a service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
