It is with deep sadness that our family shares the passing of our beloved matriarch, Emily J Bradshaw 63.

Emily passed away on May 28, 2025, at Oswego hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Emily was the daughter of the late Donald and Mary Louise Wallace. She was predeceased by her sister Jean Wallace-Bartlett, Gerald L. Bartlett, Kyle Wallace, Robert and Mayme Bradshaw, Antoinette Bradshaw, and Robert A. Bradshaw.

Emily will be forever missed by her husband of 45 years, Blake Bradshaw, and her entire family. She is survived by her brothers: Donald (Judy) Wallace of Utah, David (Mary) Wallace of Phoenix, and Jeff (Debra) Wallace of Cortland; her brother-in-law James Bradshaw of Oswego; and her sisters: Brenda (David) Auclair of Oswego, Charlene (Rick) Skillen of Oswego, and Mary Jane (Bruce) Well of Florida. She is also survived by her beloved Aunt Shirley Gappa (Vic) of Arizona. Emily was cherished by her many nieces and nephews, who loved her like a second mom. They spent countless hours listening to her funny stories, seeking her guidance, and enjoying her warm, nurturing spirt. She always had a kind word, a helping hand, and a big heart for everyone around her.

Emily was born on May 15, 1962 and raised in Oswego, NY. Emily graduated from Oswego High School in 1980 and worked for the City of Oswego. Her biggest accomplishment was her position as deputy city clerk at City Hall for 30 years. Emily was very well known and loved by the community. She was always surrounded by family which was her favorite place to be. The family holds many precious memories with her while celebrating holidays, birthday parties, and the yearly camping trips. Emily was a loving and dedicated true friend to many who brought a smile to every room she walked in. She was involved in many outdoor activities including specializing in rifle in Colorguard, track, and many City softball leagues in Oswego. You could always find Emily on the morning of Harborfest putting out blankets to save the best viewing spot for the fireworks to enjoy with her family. A favorite tradition within the family was the yearly cook out at Emily and Blakes home where she never disappointed with her famous fruit dip and pool parties. Where music, laugher, and love consumed the backyard all day long. Emily was an animal lover. Something that Emily was passionate about was chasing sunsets and capturing them on her walks at the Fort. If Emily wasn’t home and enjoying family time, you could find her on the beach enjoying the sunshine and walking in the sand- Or trying her luck at the casino or with scratch-off tickets. When remembering Emily, one of the best qualities she possessed was how incredibly generous she was. She always showed up and supported family members and cheered them on. Emily was involved in quite a few charities that she selflessly gave her time and energy to. The one that was dearest to her heart was the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive during the Holidays.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Oswego Hospital for their compassionate care. Emily quickly became a favorite amount them- affectionately referred to as the “Unicorn” for her strength, uniqueness, and resilience.

“Always a smile, instead of a frown, Always a hand when one is down. Always true, thoughtful, and Kind- Wonderful memories she left behind.”
