Taylar Clohecy, a fifth-grader at the Kingsford Park Elementary School, was recognized by the Oswego City Board of Education and superintendent of schools, Bill Crist during a recent meeting.

During a medical emergency at her home where her mother needed assistance, she quickly and calmly contacted 911, provided necessary information and then cared for her fallen mom. Upon the arrival of ambulance crews, she took it upon herself to take care of her little brother. Gathered for the ceremony were board of education president, John Dunsmoor; Taylar; her mom, Brittany Hallinan; brother, Zachary Hallinan; and superintendent of schools, Bill Crist.
