The Fitzhugh Park Buccaneer Bell Ringers visited A&J Music in December to tour the shop and the impressive collection of guitars.

“This was my way of saying thank you to the handbell ringers for putting on such a great holiday concert,” Garrett Heater, the vocal/general music teacher at FPS and the director of the Buccaneer Bell Ringers, said. “I wanted them to be aware of this musical haven in Oswego that happens to be a few blocks from our school.”

The eight students participate in bell ringing rehearsals once a week and perform in three concerts throughout the year. Students were both excited and impressed with everything in the shop, right down to the smallest guitar pick.

“They loved trying the guitars,” Heater said. “Dave was very accommodating in letting them test their skills on the acoustics, ukuleles, and banjos.”

The visit concluded with a gift; owner Alex presented each student with their own harmonica.
