On Saturday, March 26th at noon, Fort Ontario State Historic Site will host the Fort Ontario Dance-Off 2016, which will be filmed as part of an online museum-themed video competition.

All members of the community are welcome to participate. Participants are encouraged to wear historical clothing if they have it, but otherwise should dress comfortably in clothes they can move in and comfortable shoes. Refreshments will be provided and the event will last for two hours.

Fort Ontario intern Rachel Ruller is coordinating this event to create community involvement with the Fort as well as bring the Fort to the international museum scene via the online competition through whenyouworkatamuseum.com, which has historically seen competitors from around the world – from the USA to Australia to Mongolia and the United Kingdom.

Fort Ontario State Historic Site is located at the north end of East 4th Street in the City of Oswego, NY. The event is free and open to press and public, and there is plenty of free parking available in the main parking lot. For more information, please contact Rachel Ruller at (315) 343-4711, or [email protected].
