Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at Fulton Polish Home.

Books and BBQ! The Friends of the Fulton Public Library will be holding a BBQ dinner 11 a.m. until sold out Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Fulton Polish Home, 153 W. 1st St. S.

People can support Fulton’s favorite library while satisfying their taste buds with a delicious meal from Fricken Chicken BBQ. Meals include 1/2 chicken, baked beans, salt potatoes and a roll. Advance tickets are available at the library for only $13 or contact the Friends at [email protected].

Secure your dinner plans for the family by purchasing tickets ahead of the big event. Pre-sale dinners will be held for pick up until 12:30 p.m. Dinners can also be purchased at the door until they are sold out. Also, look for other things like a lottery board, home baked goods and small crafts for sale.

“This event is about more than just great food—it’s about coming together to support something that matters,” said Angela Dwyer, President of the Friends of the Fulton Public Library. “When you pick up a BBQ dinner, you’re helping us fund everything from the summer reading program to adult workshops. It’s a small act that makes a big difference for our library and the people it serves.”

The annual chicken BBQ is the library’s biggest fundraising event and this will be the second year that the Friends are sponsoring it. The Friends support the library through fundraising, advocacy and volunteerism. Supporting the Friends directly supports the library in achieving their mission of promoting literacy development, community connection, and lifelong learning through equitable access to information and services.
