Oswego State Downtown will display the inquisitive photos of Leah Kuppermann in an exhibition titled "People, Places and Things" from July 18 to Sept. 3.

A free public reception for the artist, a recent Fayetteville-Manlius High School graduate who is a national and regional Scholastic Art Awards honoree, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Oswego State Downtown, a branch of the College Store and Tyler Art Gallery at the corner of West First and Bridge streets in Oswego.

"It has been her fortune to travel to many places that have all served as inspiration for Leah's photos," according to an artist's statement. "To her, the best part of traveling is meeting new people, seeing interesting places, and being able to capture those sites through the lens. Leah's photography offers an inquisitive perspective on some ordinary moments in our extraordinary world. Whether observing a flower or a moment of grief, Leah sensitively and poetically frames our view."

Oswego State Downtown's gallery hours generally are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, though the shop is open until 8 p.m. on Thursdays during the Oswego Farmers' Market. For more information, call 216-4985.
