Greg Mills is the new executive director of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, according to Jamieson Persse, Chamber board president.

Jacqueline Thorpe has been named its new membership development manager.

In their new leadership positions, Mills and Thorpe will be prioritizing the chamber's renewed focus to provide services to members. The duo will focus on increasing benefits and emphasizing the importance of a strong working relationship between members and the organization through increased communication and transparency, Persse noted. The board's approval was unanimous.

With over 20 years of experience in executive and leadership roles, Mills brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous positions. An active member of the Central New York and Oswego communities, Mills sits as a member of various boards and is an active volunteer. He previously served as executive director of the Oswego and Fulton YMCAs and was assistant director of the city of Oswego's Community Development Office.

As a staff member of the Chamber since 2011, Thorpe has acted as the organization's backbone, managing several events, activities, membership and the farmers' market.

"The executive board noted her passion for and knowledge of the organization, and her "can-do" attitude are among the many reasons why she has been promoted," Persse said.

Mills and Thorpe assume their new roles effective today. Mills succeeds Beth Hilton, who resigned from her post earlier this year.
