The H Lee White Marine Museum, located in Oswego’s Historic Maritime District on the West First Street Pier, is pleased to announce “Stargazers Night,” set at 7:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 3.

The Museum and Treasure Chest Gift Shop will be open at 6:30 pm prior to the program.

The stargazing will feature John Rusho, adjunct professor of Astronomy at SUNY Oswego.  He will give a brief talk prior to viewing the evening sky. Professional equipment will be available for closer viewing of the cosmos; observe the stars, planets and moon through these high-powered lenses.

“We are so pleased to be able to offer this previously longstanding program thanks to SUNY Oswego’s Science Department," Executive Director Mercedes Niess said. "It has always been a popular program and would not be possible without their involvement and support.”

As program size is limited, pre-reservation is required. Participants must be age 12 and over.  Large groups cannot be accommodated. A nominal $8.00 fee ($5.00 for museum members and students with valid ID) will include refreshments and admission to the Museum. Participants should dress for indoors as well as outdoors. An inclement weather date is set for Sunday.

Contact the museum at 315-342-0480 to make your reservation.
